A neighborhood studio, not a franchise
Locally owned in West Oakland since 2018. Every session is coached in person, everyone starts with an assessment, and we build strength that lasts — one percent better, every day.
Our story
Impact Fitness Oakland is a minority-owned studio founded in 2018 by Oakland native Liam Saechao.
It started with one idea: get one percent better every day. Consistency compounds — small, repeatable efforts add up to real change in how you move, feel, and live. That belief still shapes every session on the floor.
We’re a neighborhood studio, not a franchise. Every workout is coached in person, and everyone starts with a movement assessment so the plan fits your body, your history, and your goals — whether you’re starting from scratch or rebuilding after an injury.
Our coaching connects the whole picture. A strong support system makes each session more meaningful, and when your training, nutrition, and community pull in the same direction, the progress sticks.
What we’re really after
Better health for the long run: lowering the risk of stroke, diabetes, and heart disease while helping you move pain-free and build lasting strength and mobility. We don’t just train — we educate, empower, and equip you with skills that last well beyond the gym.

How we coach
Three principles guide every program we write and every session we run.
Consistency compounds
We plan for the long game. Small, repeatable wins — done week after week — beat all-or-nothing efforts that burn out by February.
Assessment first
Everyone starts with a movement screen. We meet your body where it is, so training builds you up instead of pushing you into pain.
Educate, empower, equip
You’ll learn the why behind your program. Understanding your training and nutrition is what turns short-term results into lifelong habits.
