Getting started

New to Impact Fitness Oakland? Start here.

Group training makes me nervous, can I do it? +

Yes. Group training is more about what you put into it than what fitness level you're at. Coach Liam provides modifications as well as advancements for each exercise, so the workout stays effective and safe for everyone. With a few small adjustments, we make exercises accessible to all.

How do I start? +

Join us for two weeks of unlimited classes. You'll see for yourself the inclusive atmosphere at IFO, and why people choose to be part of the tribe. Prefer one-on-one? Book a free 50-minute intro with no commitment.

How do I inquire about personal training? +

Fill out the form to book your initial consultation. Coach Liam will follow up with a short questionnaire to learn more about you and your fitness goals. After that, he'll contact you via text to set up your free consultation.

Is personal training only for beginners? +

Personal training is for everyone, no matter the skill level. It's excellent for beginners to get acclimated to working out in a gym setting, learn proper technique and build a great habit. If you're an intermediate or advanced fitness enthusiast, personal training can help you push through a plateau or shred that last percentage of body fat. The best athletes in the world use trainers to keep striving for excellence.

How many times a week do I need to come to see results? +

This is different for everybody and depends on your schedule, but we recommend three. Most people see results within three to six weeks. Working out three to five times per week paired with an appropriate nutrition plan will yield dramatic results. It's all about consistency.

Training & classes

How sessions run, when they're held, and how to reserve your spot.

What times are the classes and how long are they? +

Check out the schedule for all the days and times. We're confident you'll find a class at a time that works for you.

Are the workouts inside or outside? +

Our group fitness classes are held indoors, and one-on-one sessions are available indoors, outdoors, or virtually depending on trainer availability.

Do I have to tell you which classes I'm coming to? +

You don't have to tell us which classes you're coming to. We do recommend reserving classes in advance, though, as it saves you a spot and helps us better prepare for you.

What are your training hours? +

Sessions run seven days a week: Sunday 5:00 AM–10:00 PM, Monday 5:30 AM–10:30 PM, Tuesday 6:00 AM–8:00 PM, Wednesday 6:00 AM–8:00 PM, Thursday 6:00 AM–11:00 PM, Friday 5:30 AM–11:00 PM, and Saturday 7:30 AM–6:00 PM. Training is by appointment. The studio is at 985 3rd St, Oakland, CA 94607.

Membership, policies & amenities

Commitments, cancellations, and what's waiting for you at the studio.

12 months seems like such a long time to commit +

Commitment is a good thing when it comes to your health and well-being. You only get one body, so take care of it. With so many available class times, even if your schedule changes due to work or life, you can still get your workout in. You can have a short-term goal, but working out and staying in shape is a life-long commitment. We also offer six-month packages to ease you in.

I have commitment issues, I need more flexibility +

No worries at all. You can also book single classes.

Can I put my membership on hold? +

We won't put a membership on hold unless you have a doctor's note restricting you from training. If you're traveling, we'll provide a personalized program you can do at the hotel. Email us at impactfitnessoakland@gmail.com if you have more questions.

What is the refund and cancellation policy for personal training? +

All prepaid sessions are non-refundable and non-transferable. Scheduled sessions require a 24-hour cancellation notice, or they will be charged.

Will I have to wait to shower in the morning? +

With our semi-private group fitness classes, you won't be competing for shower time, as most people live close and shower at home. We also have multiple showers and fully stocked changing rooms. With complimentary fresh towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hairdryers, hair ties and more, you'll have everything you need to go from the gym to work.

Do you have water, or do I have to bring mine? +

Bring your own water bottle, but feel free to fill up at our filtered water fountains.

Is there parking? +

Yes. We offer complimentary parking spaces, plus bike parking, because we know that searching for parking is the last thing you want to do before starting your workout.

What amenities do you have? +

The studio is wheelchair accessible and by appointment only. You'll find certified personal trainers, a personal approach, private showers with fresh towel service, several lockers, and both car and bike parking available. We accept debit and credit cards, and your first consultation is free.
